Earlier this month, DJI pulled the curtain back on two new drones: the Mavic 2 Pro and Mavic 2 Zoom. A few hundred pounds cheaper than the Pro, the Zoom is virtually the same drone, with one key difference: it features a different camera - one that comes with a 2x optical zoom lens, which is a first for a foldable drone. The Zoom comes with 8GB of built-in storage, plus a microSD slot for adding cards up to 128GB in capacity. General image quality is very good in daylight, too. While the Zoom can't match the Pro for dynamic range, colour detail and general clarity, it can still capture fantastically sharp, richly detailed 4K, 2.7K and 1080p footage at a range of frame rates, plus 12-megapixel still photos in JPEG or DNG Raw format.

Issues importing Hero 6 HEVC files into Avid Media Composer 8.6.0
"Hi all, I got stuck in editing DJI Mavic 2 Pro Zoom H.265 files in Media Composer. I have the 8.6.0 version software and when I import 4K h.265 files it only brings in the audio. Not sure why. It doesn’t do this with h.265. Any help would be appreciated. - Daren Simpson"
Looking for a good DJI Mavic 2 Pro Zoom H.265 and Media Composer workflow
"The h.265 files of 240fps mode are maxing the CPU in both of my editing machines. My biggest thing is how messed up the contrast is with the H.265 codec. The blacks are absolutely crushed and highlights way blown out. Does anyone know a good workflow between DJI Mavic 2 Pro Zoom H.265 and Avid Media Composer? Any ideas? - James Bown"
From its specs, we know DJI Mavic 2 Pro Zoom can capture H265 files in 4K and HD recording resolutions. Something frustrating is that DJI Mavic 2 Pro Zoom H.265 videos are beyond the compatibility of Avid Media Composer (including the latest version 8.9.0 ), etc. The basic reason is due to the ultra high video resolution and codec incompatibility. You can't get a flawless workflow in most cases. To solve the problem, you need to convert H.265 files to DNxHD - Avid Media Composer supported format codec.
